It doesn't take extensive research to figure out that the Industrial Revolution had a terrible effect on society. The Industrial Revolution brought many deaths from sanitation and disease to depression and their living conditions. Men, women and children were forced to work under harsh rules, terrible work environments , and bad pay.
Many families had to live together because their pay was to low, and house expenses were to high. Plus, these houses only had 4-5 rooms with limited sanitation and were located by factories,so these house were cramped, smelly and dirty. These conditions caused depression and disease. Many of the times, factories didn't have toilets or cleaning instruments. This made factories and place for bacteria and diseases.
These lifestyles spread throughout the country and became ordinary. Families would work, eat, sleep and repeat everyday for the rest of their lives. Their pay was so low, that it had people stuck in their current lifestyles and conditions for their whole life time. This would not let people move up the social class. So if you were born into an average "Joe" family, you would live like that forever. This caused many past, present, and future problems.
Even though their were MANY cons about the Industrial Revolution, some pros came with it. Many inventions came during this time, like the telephone, telegraph, diesel engine, cotton gin, etc. This made living and work a little bit easier, but still had men working bigger shifts but lower pay.
Overall, the Industrial was a dark time in American history. Many people died and suffered trying to make this nation a peaceful and better place, and in return, got pay that was below minimum wag, poor sanitation, and terrible living conditions. We should never forget this time period, so this event never ever happens again.
